Cornell University Library uses the Library of Congress Call Number system. Each book is cataloged and given a call number based on several factors, such as the author’s last name and the subject matter.
Flats, Oversize, Reference (including the Artists’ Book Collection) and Reserve
Books designated as Flats, Oversize, Reference and Reserve are separated from the regular collection and housed in alternate locations. These locations are included as part of the call number.
DVDs and Videos
If you would like to borrow or view a DVD or video, please ask at the service desk.
