Request for Reference Consultation

The Reference Research Consultation Service is available to any member of the Cornell community working on a research project, including undergraduate honors students, undergraduates writing term papers, graduate students beginning thesis work, and faculty. A Reference Librarian will schedule an appointment with you to discuss your research project, and can:

  • Provide assistance in selecting the best resources for your subject area
  • Suggest strategies for searching specific databases
  • Guide you in finding and using government documents and/or statistical resources
  • Help you identify and locate primary sources
  • Develop your research strategies or evaluate your library research process to date
  • Help you search the web for relevant and reliable information
  • Explain how to gain access to material held by other libraries

Please fill out the online form or call 255-3710 to request a consultation.
